Researchers at Hebrew University are teaching blind people how to interpret sound waves in a visual context. They have developed technology that transfers visual waves into sound waves and with just a few sessions of training, a blind woman is able to read and write in Hebrew and English. The research is for the congenitally blind because it allows them to read, write, and even locate small objects. This video is a look at how a researcher at Hebrew University has enabled a blind person to see through sound. It’s a great look at just one of the research projects being studied at Hebrew University’s Faculty of Medicine.
