After 20 years of research, Prof. Moussa Youdim of Technion's Rappaport Faculty of Medicine developed a drug for Parkinson's disease. Prof. Youdim discusses neurodegenerative disease therapies including new breakthrough drugs for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. His and his colleagues' work continue to help develop drugs that may in the future not only treat these diseases but reverse their effects. Film by the American Technion Society.

The search for treatments for diseases of aging is becoming all the more important as life expectancy continues to increase. Dr. Silvia Mandel of Technion's Faculty of Medicine discusses her work on deciphering the causes of degenerative diseases such as Parkinson's at the molecular level. She works with Prof. Moussa Youdim and Prof. John Finberg, who developed a promising drug to treat Parkinson's disease, Azilect, which has been recently approved by the FDA.
