“Better Place Battery Switch Technology Demonstration”

This video is a simple demonstration of the process that Project Better Place has implemented in order to quickly, efficiently, and inexpensively switch out car batteries in electric vehicles. It’s a short and wordless video but it is very interesting in terms of understanding the technology and process behind these electric cars. This video helps the viewer understand the practicality and feasibility of EVs. In just a little over a minute, see this robotic switch station take out the battery from an electric car and replace it with a fully charged battery.

“Shai Agassi Discusses HSBC-led Funding on CNBC”

In this video, CNBC interviews Better Place CEO Shai Agassi about his company, the viability of the electric car in an economic and environmental sense, and his latest funding from HSBC. Hear how Israel was chosen to be the first test site for a national implementation of the Better Place electric vehicle program. It is a nice introduction to understanding why Israel was key in Agassi’s development of his EV system. It also discusses the actual cleantech technology at work in his EVs. Agassi answers the questions that environmentalists, economists, politicians, and global citizens alike are most concerned about when it comes to widespread implementation of Electric Vehicles.

"Are Replaceable Batteries the Future for Cars?”

This is a news report done by a local station in San Francisco in which reporters check out Better Place’s program in Palo Alto. Better Place’s “network for electric vehicles” is explained as being similar to a cellular phone network. This video presents information on the future of the electric vehicle and explains that the primary obstacle to EVs seems to have been remedied with Better Place’s rechargeable batteries.

“DSB and Better Place Denmark partner to deliver a sustainable transportation alternative in Denmark”

This short video is a preview of the partnership formed between the State Railway System in Denmark and Project Better Place Denmark. It demonstrates how the partnership plans to facilitate simple, effective, sustainable, and cost effective transportation for the individual. While there is not a lot of information provided in this video, what is demonstrated is the possibilities, such as electric vehicle sharing, that will be made available thanks to this partnership. It is another example of how Better Place is being effectively implemented on a global scale. This is a good video if you are specifically interested in clean technologies and sustainability in Denmark.

“Web 2.0 Summit 08: John Battelle Speaks with Shai Agassi”

John Battelle, a journalist who covers technology and web-based media, interviews Shai Agassi about his company’s project to implement an electric vehicle network. This interview takes place at the Web 2.0 Summit in 2008 and the two men discuss economic benefits of switching to EVs, the way this project will fit into businesses that already exist in the US, and basic scientific and economic elements of carbon emission and American dependence on foreign oil. It’s an interesting discussion that shows the viewer many aspects of the project in relation to the American market, demonstrating how well Electric Vehicle innovation, and specifically the Better Place project, will complement the American way of life.

"Making Cars Smarter"

The assistant managing editor for Fortune Magazine interviews the CEO and Founder of Better Place, Shai Agassi, about why his electric vehicle network is smart, practical, and functional for the average car user. He talks about his partnership with Renault (a car manufacturer) and about how the car charging ports will work. It is very informative in terms of understanding the logistics involved when using an EV. This video is relatively interesting and does answer some important questions but may be more useful as a supplement to another video about Project Better Place.
